Custom Branded Collateral

Kat Larrea is a Minneapolis-based photographer that is anything but ordinary. She captures a perfect day that feels easy, creative and a little unconventional. She documents weddings as they unfold, blending documentary storytelling with editorial precision on digital and film.

A dreamer, forced into action by her sometimes type-A personality, Kat had big goals, but realised if she wanted to get where she was going, her brand needed to level the f*ck up.

Working with Kaitlyn is HANDS-DOWN the best thing I've ever done for my business.

She was able to turn my wild thoughts and lofty dreams into an actionable plan, paired with a brand design that defied every single one of my expectations. I've had so many people tell me my new branding is "SO ME," and it means the world that Kaitlyn was able to see me and translate that to something tangible, beautiful, and most importantly, strategic. I'm beyond excited to see how the new branding works hard to bring in my ideal client and sets up Kat Larrea Photo for a more fulfilling, fun, and aligned future.

The Brief

In Kat’s own words: I absolutely do not want to look like every other photographer (ie beige, cursive, blah blah blah).

She needed someone to come into her business, as an invested, objective third party to really give her the push she needed. Enter TGS. We dove straight into the nitty gritty of a questionnaire, identified her founder story, audience and defined her lane of one opportunities and market position.

To put it simply, the Kat Larrea brand was certainly not your average mid-west photographer. Leveraging an edge that didn’t exist in the local market, we went all in, capitalising on her ability to be quirky, fun, edgy and confident, attracting high-end clients that want someone exactly like that.

Injecting personality into was simple - a custom blackletter inspired font offset by a rich, grounded palette. It was the perfect balance - and represented Kat to a tee.

Why TGS?

“I’ve seen your work and low how bold and fun it is! Definitely the style I’m hoping to achieve.”

And boy did we deliver.
